UTI’s Collision Repair & Refinish Technology program teaches students the tools and equipment used in the industry as well as the principles that will help them succeed in their careers. These qualities will help them ensure that every repair they put together moves through the estimating process smoothly. Moreover, they must be good at time management and critical thinking to stay on top of their workload. In addition to having an automotive background and strong interpersonal skills, estimators must have a thorough knowledge of vehicle construction and how parts are priced in order to provide accurate estimates. A career as an auto collision estimator is not going away, and as demand for this service rises, so will the need for skilled people in the industry.
